Kent Rogert was born in Blair and raised on a farm 7 miles west of Herman, NE. He graduated from Tekamah-Herman High School in 1991, was awarded the Board of Regent’s Scholarship and moved to Lincoln to attend the University of Nebraska. He graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Sciences with an emphasis in Ag Economics.
After graduation, Kent worked as a Crop Production Specailist for Greenwood Coop and Cenex/Land O'Lakes for 2 years and then for American Cyanamid as an ag chemical sales representative covering an area southwest of Lincoln for 2 years. He then moved to Omaha to work for Garst Seed Company as a District Sales Manager in west central Iowa for 7 years. In 2005, he left the corporate world to start his own business and moved back home where he now owns Rogert Ag and Real Estate, selling seed and grain marketing services to farmers as brokering commercial, residential, and ag land in Burt County.
His political aspirations date back to his childhood as he remembers meeting and speaking many times with Senator Jim Goll of Tekamah, and his father’s involvement in Senator Frank Korshoj’s campaign in 1986. He held offices in several organizations in high school and college and several of his college friends were pages at the Capital building during the 90’s, which he wishes he had taken part in. He is a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church of Tekamah, Tekamah Lodge No. 31, Tekamah Lion's Club, Northridge County Club, the Tekamah and West Point Chambers of Commerce and is an active alumnus of the University of Nebraska and the fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta.
